A Navy Veteran Who Continues to Serve
Mr. Bischof began his legal career in Washington, D.C. with the United States Navy, attaining the rank of Lieutenant Commander in the Judge Advocate General’s Corps. Mr. Bischof continues to help those who have served and is a member of the Bar Association of Erie County’s Veterans’ and Service Members Legal Issues Committee. Service members have devoted their lives to bettering their country, and Mr. Bischof realizes their need for strong legal representation and helps them secure experienced counsel.
Community Involvement is a Cornerstone of Our Practice
A lifelong hockey fan, Mr. Bischof created, organizes and participates as team captain in a semiannual exhibition ice hockey game for charity. “Sabres v. Esquires” pits a team of attorneys from the Bar Association of Erie County against a team of Buffalo Sabres Alumni. The charity event raises money for the Erie County Bar Foundation and the Buffalo Sabres Alumni Association. The Buffalo Sabres Alumni Association has dominated the series thus far.
Mr. Bischof is also involved in the local arts community. He is a committee member, contributing musician and contributing artist with Lawyers for the Arts, an organization that raises funds for local arts groups. Mr. Bischof also served as board president for Tonawanda’s Council on the Arts for the Carnegie Art Center from August 2000 through August 2006.
Mr. Bischof created and continues to chair an initiative within the Bar Association that helps lawyers practice before the United States Supreme Court. Leading the program for 26 years, the Bar Association recognized Mr. Bishof’s efforts in 2006 with a Special Service Award.
